Book Club

‘There is a monthly Book Club at St Martin’s – for anyone who enjoys reading and sometimes finishes a book with more questions than answers! It isn’t particularly focused on Christian books, but has a wide remit. At present we have 10 members and we usually meet on a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm but that is a flexible feast to suit any other commitments members might have. We are always open to new members so if you could read at least a book a month and would enjoy discussing it, and any other books you may have read that month, in a friendly atmosphere over chocolate (biscuits/cake/whatever) please click this link to contact Revd Joss Walker, and she’ll let you know more details.

To give you some idea a few examples of our previous reading are: The Shack by William Paul Young, Sacred Hearts by Sarah Dunant, House Rules by Jodi Picoult, The Snowman by Jo Nesbo, Room by Emma Donoghue, The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, and The Christmas Mystery by Jostein Gardner. Our set books are all supplied by Shepway Library so there is no cost involved apart from any supplementary reading you may wish to do yourself.’
